I am an artist, art teacher and jewellery designer. I trained as an architect in South Africa and when I moved to London seventeen years ago, I wanted a new outlet for my creativity. I decided to enrol on the ND Silversmith, Jewellery and Allied Crafts course at the London Metropolitan University, graduating in July 2002, receiving a number of awards for design, enamelling and engraving. My success has created a strong foundation to develop my passion for enamel work translating it from jewellery, onto enamel wall panels.
Variety and colourful flamboyance is a central theme to my work.
My enamel panels have won a number of Awards in the prestigious Goldsmiths’ craft and design council competition and in January 2010 I won the gold award for my piece entitled The journey of St Dunstan.
My love of painting and drawing has been a catalyst for change in my life and has strengthened my belief that all people need to access their creative souls, in order to live full and balanced lives. This passion led me to set up ‘Creative hands’ art studio in 2002 and I have helped many people throughout the years the studio has been running, to improve their creative ability and their overall sense of well being.
