Julie is a designer and maker of contemporary jewellery, enamel and silverware.
She uses a variety of both traditional and modern techniques in her work and incorporates a diverse range of materials including precious metals (gold, silver, palladium) and vitreous enamels.
She is drawn to the strength and delicacy of these materials through their tactile and underlying natures and seeks to complement each design by drawing upon these properties.
The majority of Julie’s work is made to commission (and for her own pleasure).
Julie is currently also Vice Principal of York School of Jewellery.
Recent exhibitions include:
Japan – Tokyo Metropolitan Art Museum – 48th International Exhibition of the Enamelling Artists Association of Japan. July 2014.
‘Heart of the Heat’. Collaborative exhibition of work by members of the British Society of Enamellers and the Guild of Enamellers. Sponsored by the Goldsmiths Company. Birmingham School of Jewellery. November – December 2013.
