Cathy Timbrell
Cathy began life as a life scientist, and in many ways, this still informs her work. Although she has been making jewellery all her life, she began enamelling silver pieces 15 years ago and more recently copper bowls which now influence the silver set enamelled copper jewellery she currently makes. Colour is key to the way Cathy uses enamels and the inspiration for her designs comes from artistic influences such as the Art Deco movement or Japanese traditional lines and colour. The subject matter can be small modern architectural features or plant and animal derived designs. She works from a workshop in the Chilterns which sits next to her home.
