Kerry Lawrence
Kerry Lawrence is an enameller who works mainly in silver. She produces wearable pieces, as well as larger, functional or decorative objects for the table and home. Kerry makes most of the pieces that she then engraves and enamels. She uses traditional enamelling techniques such as champlevé, basse taille and cloisonné. Her journey into enamelling began with a gift of an antique enamelled silver case. She researched the technique used, and through this discovered the work of more modern, world leading enamellers, such as Jane Short, Fred Rich and Phil Barnes. Soon she was being taught by some of these masters and began her journey into silversmithing, engraving and enamelling so she could learn to work with this most unforgiving, delicate but beautiful material.
