Rebecca Brook
Rebecca explores psychology and the important connection colour has with adornment, Rebecca believes that jewellery can signal status and project power. The inspiration for Rebecca’s collection of enamelled jewellery comes from her interest in The decorative
arts. Rebecca has a great interest in encaustic floor tile patterns that can be found on exterior pathways of Victorian period buildings.
These tiles are commonly worn away or broken, so Rebecca is re-imagining the design and
Taking inspiration from their colours. Rebecca believes that, Colour brings jewellery to life giving it personality, she believes wearing colour can give a person a sense of identity and help the wearer to choose their own creative self expression. Rebecca’s designs are bold and geometric. She states, “each piece is a union of decoration and form.”
The designs for this project were made using 3D printing combined with the lost wax casting process, making her ideas into wearable pieces of art.
